This is a thin k-type thermocouple wire with brown PVC insulation, which is good up to about 105 C or 221 F. This k-type thermocouple wire can be used to make your own thermocouples for a wide range of applications, or to make your own extension wire. The chromel alumel wire is made to standard thermocouple specifications. The thermocouple wire diameter is AWG 30 or 0.25 mm. AWG30 is a thin wire that reacts fast to temperature changes. The outside diameter of this k-type thermocouple wire is about 0.08 inch by 0.12 inch, or 2 mm by 3 mm, slightly oval.
