Robinair TIF3110 Infrared Thermometer and Psychrometer with K-Type Thermocouple Input, -50 to 500 degrees C, -58 to 932 degrees F, Accuracy of + or – 2% of Reading, or + or – 2 Degrees C Review

Robinair TIF3110 Infrared Thermometer and Psychrometer with K-Type Thermocouple Input, -50 to 500 degrees C, -58 to 932 degrees F, Accuracy of + or - 2% of Reading, or + or - 2 Degrees C

The SPX TIF3110 infrared thermometer and psychrometer with K-type thermocouple input is for monitoring temperature and air quality in industrial applications. The infrared sensor measures temperature from -50 to 500 degrees C (-58 to 932 degrees F) with a best accuracy of + or – 2% of the reading, or + or – 2 degrees C (4 degrees F). The infrared sensor takes measurements from a distance for applications involving hard-to-reach, moving, hot, or electrified equipment. The psychrometer measures ambient temperature, relative humidity, dew point temperature, and wet bulb temperature. The thermometer has an input for a K-type thermocouple probe (not included) for taking contact surface temperature measurements. The LCD screen displays the current measurement or the high or low temperature reading for a session, and it can record the high or low temperature reading for future reference. The infrared sensor has a 30:1 distance-to-spot ratio, which means the measurement field measures approximately 30 feet in diameter when the target is 1 foot away. A built-in laser pointer helps improve aiming accuracy when taking infrared measurements. The hold button keeps a reading on the display so it can be recorded. The operator can choose to display readings in degrees Fahrenheit or Celsius. The thermometer operates on one 9V battery (included). A low-battery indicator alerts the operator when the battery needs to be replaced, and the thermometer will automatically turn off after 15 minutes of non-use to conserve battery life. A carrying case is included for transporting and storing the thermometer.

Digital infrared thermometers measure the temperature of surfaces from a distance. They may measure temperature in Celsius, Fahrenheit, or both. Infrared (IR) thermometers work by focusing the infrared radiation emitted by a surface onto a detector called a thermopile. The thermopile turns the heat into electricity, which is measured and converted to a temperature reading. The reading is then displayed on an LCD display. IR thermometers are used to measure temperature when an object is fragile, as in ear thermometers, or dangerous to be near, as in the case of industrial equipment.

SPX manufactures tools and test instruments for the food service, transportation, and energy industries. The company, founded in 1912, is headquartered in Charlotte, NC.
