Hanna Instruments HI145-20 T-Shaped Thermometer with 300mm Stainless Steel Probe, -50.0 to 220 Degree C Range, 1 Degree C Resolution, + or -0.4 Degree C Accuracy Review

Hanna Instruments HI145-20 T-Shaped Thermometer with 300mm Stainless Steel Probe, -50.0 to 220 Degree C Range, 1 Degree C Resolution, + or -0.4 Degree C Accuracy

The HI9241 Foodcare Thermistor Thermometer is used to monitor temperature in semi-frozen and semi-solid food and liquids. The thermometer measures temperature from -50 to 150 degrees C, with an accuracy of + or – 0.4 degrees C. The stainless steel HI765PW probe has a penetration tip for use in solids and semisolids and has a white plastic handle. The probe is attached to the bottom of the thermometer with a 1m/3.3-foot cable. The automatic internal calibration feature increases the accuracy of test readings. The probe may be replaced with any HI765-series temperature probe without having to recalibrate the thermometer. The HI9241 is used to measure temperature in laboratories, food service, and food storage.

Digital thermometers are instruments used to measure the temperature of air, liquids, or surfaces electronically. They may measure temperature in Celsius, Fahrenheit, or both. Most digital thermometers use thermistors, which are small electronic resistors. Thermistors are made out of metals that conduct electricity within a certain range and become more conductive the warmer they get. A microcontroller inside the thermometer measures this electrical conductivity and converts it to a temperature, which is displayed on an LCD. Digital thermometers are used in a wide range of applications, including in laboratory settings, food service and storage, and in doctors’ offices and hospitals.

Hanna Instruments manufactures analytical instrumentation and supplies, including pH meters, electrodes, chemical reagents, and buffer solutions. The company, founded in 1978 and headquartered in Woonsocket, RI, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 standards.
